Victorious at the County Fair

Lakeside Organic Gardens, Watsonville, Calif., won the Director’s Choice Award at the Santa Cruz County Fair. The award is the most prestigious at the event, given by the board of directors to their favorite booth.
Lakeside also won the award for Best Commercial Exhibit in the Agriculture Building and received a plaque of appreciation for its fresh produce donations throughout the week to the Agriculture and Horticulture Department.

The judges were impressed by Lakeside’s display of over 60 different produce commodities, each individually handpicked for the fair. During the event, minestrone soup using Lakeside produce and organic carrots were distributed to fair attendees.
